Don't buy Gateway

My current computer is a Gateway. When it works it works good, but when it doesn't it really sucks. The first year we had it I got the blue screen constantly, so after many trips to the seller(bestbuy) and two trips back to gateway I finally got the problem solved. Until now, it turned out according to gateway to be a motherboard issue, which was fine because still under warranty. Last month I started getting the blue screen again, just whenever. Problem now is the warranty has expired. What should I do, besides get another pc because that is not in the budget?
