Hi,

Specs:
------
Motherboard: Gigabyte 7VM400AM-RZ.
Onboard sound: VIA VT1617
Driver: Realtek AC97 Audio ver. 5.10.0.6060

Sound card SPDIF out connected to SONY receiver with RCA.
Input read as PCM 48khz.

The sound pauses every now-and-then.
Almost as if a buffer is overrun.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Buks

I wouldnt imagine this to be the reciever. More likely ure onboard sound. It's not exactly anything special.
If you have another reciever about, try that and see if the same happens just to illimiate.
I'd go through all your services and startup programs and make sure you know what they are too. This can take some time researching the internet etc and changing if they start up, deleting the programs etc but its worth it.

'input read as pcm 48khz'. it says this on your reciever? is the reciever upsampling this from 44khz or is this a setting on your computer. If so, change it to 44khz.

Cheers,
James
