Remote Procedure Call Terminated Unexpectedly

I was recently on the net when i got a warning message saying my system was infected with a virus. Before i could run a check my computer shut down. Now when i switch it on it takes ages for windows to start up. when the desktop appears i get a sign saying
" System Shutdown - The system is shutting down, please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT Authority. Windows must now restart because the remote procedure call terminated unexpectedly"
At the bottom of the screen i also get messages saying critical system error, system detected virus activities.
