If so, what key do I need to press to get it to boot from the CDROM on startup? Most laptops use the F12 key, but none of the F keys appear to let me boot from the CDROM on this Dell.

Err, I need to get into the BIOS more specifically, haven't had any luck yet. It's a Dell Inspiron 5100.

Yep...haha, it took me two hours of calling Dell customer support to figure it out, too bad you weren't around sooner! It turns out the motherboard was bad, and that's why I was unable to access the BIOS with any of the F keys.

They wanted 400 for the board which obviously shows it's a cheap piece of junk and 300 labor! They were trying to convince me to get a new laptop! haha
