hi i have a http://www.wheretobuyacomputer.net/index.php/hp-pavillion-a1224n-under-500-for-p 4-200-gb-hd-1-gb-ram/ , plus i installed 1gb more of ram and a geforce fx 5500. and was wanting to get a new motherboad for it because i want one with a agp slot. i dont know a whole lot about computers and was wondering if this will be compatable with my computer, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813135164 and if it us, will it fit inside my case. also will i loose any saved information, and how hard would this be to install myself? i am mechanicly inclined and do know a bit about computers as i installed my graphics card and my extra ram. or if you could point me to a web site that could tell or show me how to do this. thank you for taking the time to help me.

sorry it took so long for someone to get back to you. if you havent already done so yourself i'll try and help you as much as i can. first of all, when it comes to brand name computers, you have to be very careful what motherboard you buy for it. the easiest way to tell if it will fit in your case is checking the connectors on the back of your computer where the motherboard is and comparing that to the connectors on the back the new motherboard. it is not hard at all to hook up a motherboard inside a computer. the instruction manuals almost always do a good job at explaining it. here is the bad news, in order for everything to work as it should, you do need to format your hard drive. there are ways around that though. install the motherboard and then install the drivers for it and hope for the best. but like i said, it most likely wont be a smooth transition.
