Digital OUT connection on my sound card

Unregistered guest | I have a sound blaster Live! value card I believe and the DIGITAL OUT plug on the back is a 1/8" typical stereo audio cable. I have a new Sony receiver. I want to connect my sound cards digital OUT to the sony receiver digital in however I don't know what sort of cables I need to buy as most things I see posted talk about having RCA digital outs on your sounds cards (not mine!!  ) Also will regular mp3 files playing on my PC be considered "digital out" and go into my sony receiver? |

New member Username: VermiciouskanidSan Antonio, TX USA Post Number: 9 Registered: Oct-04 | The digital out on the SB Live is a spdif (spuh diff). which IS a typical mini plug. The only difference is that it carries a digital signal for 2.1, 5.1 or whatever and resolves at a single RCA plug (usually color coded orange).
