No you can't, seeing as you run a splitter cable. But if you run each moniter off a different port, then you can, as long as you specify that you want output to both.

Actually with a splitter you can run a split screen. But you have to have a cable with bundles software. They are rare but you can find em. I reccommend that if you like gaming you will just have to do with a beefy card like the 6800 gt and 6800 ultra, and 9800-x850 all support dual monitor right at the card.

What do you need so you can hook up 2 monitors onto one PC?

A splitter. But most of the time, like 99% of the time you have to go with a dual monitor card. Hense me saying 6800gt,6800ultra (both nvidia cards) , 9800-x850 (both ati cards.)You can go up to 4 monitors at once. (hardcore video editing companies use these cards.) I have a workstation where i work that has a 3 monitor setup. Hardware man. All i say.

Please Help! I have a Gateway Pentium 4 Laptop and do alot of Powerpoints. I want to hook the laptop to a big screen TV. When I do, I see the icons on the laptop but not on the TV. The TV shows only the background picture on my desktop. Sometimes I have an extended desktop. I am using an S-video cable.

Yes. You are using a clone image. You will need a dual head capable video card to take care of this Ralphk. And BET you are using a dual view image. You will need to go in your advanced video settings and change it to clone image. Thats it.

Hey- I got an ATI card, that says it supports dual monitors. So I bought a splitter for it and I can only get one monitor to show up.. and they other says there is no signal. The comp wont even detect the second monitor. I am using the catyalst program. Any suggestions? Could it be the cable? Its a work computer so they arent keen on a new purchase.. and the mini tower they gave me has got some nice specs.. but so tiny I cant fit another card in it.. its like those dang macs... too small!

Ummm NO. You need hardware bro. You need 2 vga's, 2 dvi's or either 2 mixed. But you cant get dual view or split screen from just one vga, dvi,or svideo out. Oh and macs. Small. How so. My G5 will stomp on ne pc. Has enough room to fit 2 psu's in it. :D

I have a 6800Gt and at the mo i have found no way 2 use the 2 monitors as individual spanning like with the workstation maxtor cards... or the nvidia quatro's. only suppoorts spanning both horizonal and vertiall so u efectivly have 1 large widescrren, not wot u want, or cloning, not like hooking up a monitor to a laptop and dual screening (really easy).

having said all this they may yet be additonal drivers i odnt have whihc provide this functionality

It was crazy, when my dad worked as a stock broker, he had four monitors working as one with a splitter, I believe, plus two other computers running next to that setup.

In retrospect, that was a bit much to just monitor stocks. I also doubt he could do that setup again, he can't even burn a DVD without crashing his computer now...

you can also hook up two monitors if you have enough room to add a 2nd video card... i used an old video card i already had and installed it to hook up my 2nd monitor cuz i didn't have a video card w/ dual monitor capabilities. once you have 2 monitors hooked up.. you can either have the 2nd monitor clone the 1st.. or you can make it vertical span or horizontal span.

I am looking to add a monitor for our choir so they can see the music that the congregation is singing which is coming from our projector. What is available and where do I get it?

There are plenty of monitors available for your purpose and is only limited to the amount of money you can spend.

Have you done any shopping at all? Monitors are everywhere nowadays...even Walmart sells them.

Why get a monitor let alone any electronic piece of equipment when you can buy/print hymn books?

I want to display the same video via two 1.8'' Color LCD Portable Monitors. Is it possible to this with a dvd player? If so, what equipment do I need?

Also, if I can't display the video with a dvd player, how would I go about doing so with a laptop?
