I just finished building my speaker boxes to go in the trunk of my 91 Lexus LS400. It is 2 boxes that each have 2 10's. They are going to be pointed at each other about 30 inches apart and I hope they don't cancel out... Anyways, I want to coat the whole box in resin and sand them down so I can paint them. My question is do I need to sand the wood before I coat it and is there a certain resin I need to get? Thanks

yes sand the wood and use Dryres, can be found at car centers
You don't need to fiberglass it to get it to look good. Just put a coat or two of an oil based primor and then two coats of paint. (same system used to paint trim in houses)
