Whats the best and easiest material to use to make a ported box for my 12" RE X-X-X sub?

Also, what should the outside of the box be covered/coated with, if anything?

3/4 to 1 inch mdf. As for the cover depends on how you want it to look. Most people use trunk liner, but you can get fancy and paint it, or use vinal or cloth to match the interior of your car
