I would like suggestions and maybe some comments on my proposed system if anyone has a few minutes.
I recently bought a new Ford F-150 supercab and replaced the factory HU with a Pioneer DEH-P960MP.
I have two old kicker competition c8s rated at 200 watts max @ 4 ohms (svc). They will be put into a compact ported box with about .8 cu ft of air volume (including the port)
I was thinking of replacing the factory speakers with the following: Front: Infinity Kappas 50.5cs component set * Size: 5 1/4 * Sensitivity: 90 dB * Frequency Response: 55-21,000 Hz * Recommended RMS Power: 85W * Peak Power Handling: 255W * Impedance: 4 ohms
Rear: Infinity Kappa 572.5cf 2-Way Speakers * Size: 5 x 7 * Sensitivity: 90 dB * Frequency Response: 40-21,000 Hz * Recommended RMS Power: 100W * Peak Power Handling: 300W * Impedance: 4 ohms
I need some suggestions on amps. It's been a long time since I have messed around with my sound system. I do not want to be heard 2 blocks away. I am more interested in a crisp solid sub for rock (old and new) and good solid sound in the cab of my truck for a reasonable price.
I'm figuring 2 amps - 1 for the front components and 1 for the rear 2-ways and subs.
Question: When wiring up components .. is it a seperate channel for each component or are the tweeters wired on the same channel as the corresponding speaker?
Thanks for your time to read and hopefully answer this.
