Typically, in a 1.0 cu ft. box, the Brahma needs about 900W RMS, that 1000/1 would overpower a bit, but wouldn't be too bad if you're careful. Certain ported boxes will offer more cone control, and would allow more power if you use a subsonic filter, so the 1000/1 would be a great amp for that application. Smaller sealed boxes would be good with a 1000/1, such as a .75 or so, and would offer more SPL with the higher frequencies. Bandwidth would narrow, though. |

The smaller the sealed box is, the more power would be required for the sub to reach full excursion. Go here: http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/BrahmaPowerHandling.pdf You could get your amp tested to see how much power it actually puts out, and then match the box pretty close to exactly the right limits to maximize the bandwidth. |
