Advice needed on JL audio subs

I have 2 15w1's in sealed boxes in my 93 Ranger Super and they pound. Unfortunately I can't keep them both in there because I need one of the seats in the back. I want to get one new sub in (probably) a sealed box that will compare to the 2 I have in there now. Will a 13w6v2 even come close if I put 500RMS to it? If not what about a 13w7?

I'm open to suggestions on some other brands too but all I have really ever used are JL's so I don't know what I would get.

Thanks a lot.

go to this website www.reaudio.com at the re x-x-x or www.adireaudio.com look at the brahmas. Those are some very nice subs and they run cheaper but have the same amount of qaulity put into them.

Actually those 2 subs you just posted will take out a JL Audio 13W7 if powered right.

He's looking for a one sub answer. A 13W7 needs a 1000/1 amp, but would outdo the 15W1 combo in a heartbeat. 15" RE X.X.X. would be another option and hits harder than the 13W7 and is cheaper, SQ and build quality is just as good (I like it better as well as other people). The 12" X.X.X. or 13W6v2 would be about the same as the two or a little better. I can't remember exactly because W1s were discontinued. The X.X.X. needs more power than 500W RMS sealed, but you can get a different amp and save money. The sound quality of all these subs are better than the W1s.

Yeah, but if he goes sealed like he said he plans to, he'll need from 800-1000W RMS to get to full excursion. He doesn't need the full 1600W RMS, but he'll need more than 500.
