it started smoking... and went into protection. had it turned wayyy down.. coudl hardly hear the music and out of nowhere started smoking. how do i check if wires shorted or whatever i need to do?

if it started smoking, the amp is probably toasted.
send it back and get it replaced.
next time make sure it's wired properly.
