what does 125 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms stereo mean?

this means the amplifier produces, reportedly, 125 watts per channel, into 4 channels, with a 4 Ohm load, unbridged.
what it does not tell you is if that is 125 watts RMS, or "Max."
