ok, I know you can seriously damage your subs if there too cold and you turn it up too much. What happens you rip your voice coil apart? but any way im wondering how cold is too cold for a sub.

try putting ur sub inside a freezer... check the temperature there.. if doubtful... throw it away stupid
you need to let the coils warm up a bit first yes, otherwise going from very cold, to very hot can cause them damage, as well as causing damage to cold, stiff surrounds, spiders, and such. anything below about 40degF it's a good idea to let the speakers warm up a bit first.
