i have $3,200 to spend on my system including installation, i want an SPL setup i can find a place that can give me the sympathetic freq. for my car if needed, im willing to make my own box so i need u guys to help with speakers(i could keep stock if needed), subs, amps, wireing, sound dampning, HU (i kind of want a flipscreen moniter but if u dont think i have enough then just give me a normal HU), i kind of had a goal to hit 152 dbs cuz my last system hit at 148 but i want to hit 152 so i will make the box to the sepcs. Oh and i have a 1995 Honda Accord, thanks for any input
You're not going to have to tune to the sympathetic frequency to hit 152 db. If that's your goal, you can hit 152 and still have great sound quality. Just look into SQ/SPL subs, two Resonant Engineering 12" X.X.X. series subs in the recommended slot vented box are capable of 150+, and have good sound quality. Same goes for Brahma 12's, 12W7s, Eclipse Titanium 12s, etc. With your car, you'll need to couple the airspace between the trunk and the cabin to get more SPL. With $3200 you can build an excellent system. As far as speakers, I'd look into top of the line component systems and pick the one you like the most, Dynaudio, Focal, JL Audio, CDT, MB Quart, Rainbow, and Infinity all make excellent component systems. Get high power, quality amps for the speakers and subs. What kind of subs do you have now?

i have 1 15" brahma in its recomended volume running off a 1200.1 JBL amp, its alright but i want a lot more bass, i want to be able to be heard from far away, if u could just give me a list of what to get for amps, subs, speakers, HU, and wireing off of your personal opinion, im probably going to go with resonant engineering for subs this time, i read in a previous post that the 15" mt's were $465 each so i was considering a pair of those, i guess an 18" is $525, but im going to leave this up to you, thx
Is your Brahma in a sealed or ported box? You could gain 3-4 db alone by putting it in a ported box. MT's will hit HARD, but aren't a SQ sub and also have no warranty because of the extreme nature. Look into Resonant Engineering X.X.X. series, 2 15's in a slot ported box would be wicked, but you'll have a hard time fitting it into an Accord. 2 12" RE X.X.X. subs would put you in the 150s. Like I said above, consider coupling the trunk and cabins airspace, you'll see a db increase there, sometimes a very large one. It really depends on your tastes as far as component speakers and amps, there is no way I can recommend what you'd like best, sorry. You'll just have to go to audio shops and audition sets of speakers. Read reviews, as well. Take your favorite CD's, ones you are VERY familiar with, to the shop and try the components out, listen for sound quality, any errors the speakers may have, pick what you think will suit your tastes best. I gave you a list of brands to look at above. I just hope you don't listen to music at 140+ db everyday, you're going to severely damage your ears doing that.
