I had purchased a completely new car audio system for my new car yesterday and am having problems with the amp shutting down after 20 to 30 minutes of continuous play. I am running a skar audio 2000w amp on a 12" digital design 712 redline series subwoofer in a large ported box. I have kenwood Excellon 6.5 in front and back doors and 6.9 in back deck. With a jl rd400/4 amp. Everything is hooked up to a brand new 12 volt battery just for the audio. I have a kenwood Excellon 6.2" touchscreen headunit. I havnt been able to fidget with anything and am green to the technicality of the installation. What could be the problem. I'm confident in the audio stores installation however there should not be any problems. I know the amp is big for the single sub but I made sure they tuned it right so it isnt putting too much power, in fact it has alot more room to add power so too much power should not be an issue.
