I bought a MB 200E lately built in Aug 1990 with a Becker Avus Cassette Code car radio in it. It was originately built in there and was never changed. The serial number of the radio is : BE0778-A4716913. The previous owner (90years old) was the only person who owned this car. Unfortunately he changed the battery before selling the car & forgot the code. He could not find the Code Card either. The radio has NO preset station buttons. It has 3 buttons saying "U", "M", and "DK"(in red). The display is about 2 inch wide. I have asked many people for help. Here is a summary: I was told that the code cannot be recovered because the owner could have overwritten the initial code. The owner said he changed the code â€" but also changed it back to "default". If so - is there a possibility to erase/disable the code function so that the radio can still be used?
