I bought a MB 200E lately built in Aug 1990 with a Becker Avus Cassette Code car radio in it. It was originately built in there and was never changed. The serial number of the radio is : BE0778-A4716913. The previous owner (90years old) was the only person who owned this car. Unfortunately he changed the battery before selling the car & forgot the code. He could not find the Code Card either. The radio has NO preset station buttons. It has 3 buttons saying "U", "M", and "DK"(in red). The display is about 2 inch wide. I have asked many people for help. Here is a summary: I was told that the code cannot be recovered because the owner could have overwritten the initial code. The owner said he changed the code â" but also changed it back to "default". If so - is there a possibility to erase/disable the code function so that the radio can still be used?
I appreciate your help with my sincere regards. Ed
