I just bought two JL 12 inch subs. They are rated 8 ohm 50-50 Watts. They came with a Kenwood KAC 7202 amp which has these specs..
Continuous Power / Channel Qty 150 Watts x 2 Frequency Response 5 - 20000 Hz Signal-To-Noise Ratio 100 dB Amplifier Output 2-channel Output Power / Total 920 Watt High Level Inputs Yes Input Signal Voltage 0.2 - 5V
Amplifier Output Details
Output Power / Channel 150 Watt, 230 Watt, 460 Watt Output Impedance / Channel 2 Ohm, 4 Ohm Frequency Response 20 - 20000 Hz, at 1 kHz Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) 0.08 %, 0.8 % Supply Voltage 14.4V DC Channel Qty 1, 2 I don't think this is the right amp since at 8 ohms I think the amp would only put out 75 watts per channel.
Can anyone help me select what type of amp I should be looking for. It sems none of them list much concerning 8 ohm speakers
