Best Sub and Amp combination for around 250 dollars?

I'm looking to buy a 12 inch sub and amp for around 250 possibly 300 TOTAL. I am looking for better quality sound with a good amount of kick not just a super loud bass sound. Does anybody have recommendations to fit this? Thanks!
