hi guys thankyou very much for trying to help i actually tried an online free decoder which gave the following results becker 1492 = 42511 (the same)
alpine? cm2191= 42141
no results for the grand prix
becker grand prix electronic now.. this is a bit strange first off the sticker with the sn doesnt seem to activate that online decoder and there is no b prefix.
further reading online suggests that some of these bgp radios have an aditional 5 pin plug ( mine does) they claim that simply leaving this unplugged BEFORE seitching it on will render the radio code free!
i have yet to wire these radios up on my bench to pre test but i will report the results here and i am happy to make a donation if the codes work its a great thing your doing here and one good turn deserves another! thankyou
ok finally got to testing this mb alpine unit i tried my code a couple times and its froze the screen says " hold" or at least thats what it looks like i am doing this on the bench not on the car. i believe i also pressed the * button and it beeped once im not sure how to get it to allow me to try your code you replied with??
the CM2191 usues a solder tag jumper system for its code and normally cannot be decode by Seial Numer ( but it may be listed on the Merc Dealer Database if you have the VIN )
