So I been thinking about switching to a sealed enclosure for my sub. For those who dont know I have a single 15" Ascendant Audio Havoc. Right now its in about a 4cft ported box with two 4" aero ports tuned around 34-35hz and it takes up almost my whole trunk. It used to be in the ext cab of my S10 and it took up the whole ext. cab and it was kinda built to fit back there but I sold the truck and have a car now and I would like to have some trunk space. So switching to a sealed enclosure seems like my best bet. AA reccomends 1.5-3.0cft for the 15" Havoc so what size should I go with first of all and second, what is the best and cheapest wood I should go with? I figured building the box myself would save me some dough. Ive never attempted to build my own box before but since its sealed I dont think I can screw it up. Home Depot will cut the wood for you right? And I want the box to have a slanted front face so will they be able to cut it at angles? The only way I can build it myself is if they will cut it all for me b/c I dont have the tools to make the cuts myself. So......
So keeping it between 1.5-3.0cft what size box should I go with?
What type of wood should I use?
Will a place like Home Depot make all the cuts for me? Including the angled cuts for the slanted front?
What wood glue and screws do you all reccomend?
Any input or suggestions will be appreciated, thanks.
