I just have a quick question about impedance and wiring. Is there a site, or a post within this site that explains in detail how the impedance changes when wiring subs in series and parallel and how it changes based on the impedance rating of the sub? Im just confused.. I have the money to buy my first system now, but I don't want to end up buying the wrong thing. Thanks! JBam

So if I were to buy one 4ohm DVC speaker with the voice coils wired in parallel that gives me a 2 ohm load. (12" Alpine type R I am considering buying)
their site says 300-600 RMS is best for that speaker

So I want to look for an amp whose power rating at 2ohms is between 300-600 RMS x 1 channel, correct?

Correct, you want to buy a mono block amplifier.

Awesome. In your opinion, how does Alpine compare with MB-Quart?

Beware of the MRP-Mxxxx Alpine amps are prone to overheating, if you get some other series will be pretty comparable on SQ.
