New member Username: Joop1970Post Number: 4 Registered: Dec-11 | I was wondering if it's possible to create a pre out on the philips ccr600 car stereo. I'm pleased with the sound it creates but I need an amplifier for my aftermarket front speakers. Is it possible to solder a wire in the radio or something? thanks in advance, |

Today's HUs offer much better sound quality and can be directly interfaced at the preamp level, here are two good quality inexpensive ones: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33388_JVC-KD-R320.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_29010_Pioneer-DEH-1300MP.html |

I actually have another HU but i really like the look of the old one in combination with the external display an cd changer. I'm not afraid to open the HU, problem is that I dont know where to solder the wires. I know there is an solution for this with the Vauxhall cd30 mp3: http://www.astraforum.fr/galerie/thumbnails.php?album=393 |

Almost all these car stereos have chipamps like the TDA7375 for a final stage of amplification usually are bolted to a sidewall of the chassis (or in the backwall), take a look: Usually there's two of them, get the datasheet for that chip and look at the input pins (should be two for stereo). That's the general area where one should interface. The signal should be centered around ground and around 1-2 volt P-P in amplitude, be sure to check that the input impedance of the chipamp is no less more than 10Kohm, if not you need to buffer it through an op-amp which involves building a small circuit. The job has to be superbly done or you will just introduce distortion, noise, etc.. to the signal. |
