I was looking at these speakers on ebay and was wondering if there was that much difference between the two? There is a price difference between the Kappa and the Kappa Perfect, just wondering if its worth the extra? thanks for the help.

The Perfects are very different from the straight Kappa line. For Infinity, Reference is their factory-replacement class, Kappa is their midgrade, and Kappa Perfect is their premium line.

The Perfect 6.1 has a much bigger coil on the mid, a very well made tweeter, and high-quality crossover that has smoother rolloffs between the two.

But for the average ear are the Perfects worth the extra money? thanks

But does the Perfect line sound that much better, to support the extra cost? Ive only had Reference and I thought those sounded pretty good.

It depends on your definition of "the average ear". There is a difference in price, and a notable difference in performance. If you really don't care about them being clear, then no, it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the help Matt. I get your point I will probably go with the Perfect 6.1s. I would probably be kicking my but for not spending a little more money for the long term.

Yep, particularly for fronts, it's worth putting as much as you can into getting good speakers. They define your system more than anything else.
