I have a 1996 vw golf gti, i bought it used. The previous owner replaced the starter, and put a toggle switch in it to engage the starter. But, come to find out that, the old starter may not have been bad, but, it could have been the alarm system. I locked my car the other day, and the alarm went off, when i put the key in the ignition, the alarm didn't shut off! So the question i have is, How can i repair the alarm malfuntion, and where the car will start with ignition switch?
