Just thought I would share some pics from this little project me and a couple friends took on a cpl weeks ago.
So my buddy has had a single Image Dynamics ID10v3 in a sealed ~1cu.ft fiberglass box on ~250 wRMS for a while and he decided he wanted a bit more oomph. Luckily for him I had an extra ID10v3 sittin around and we had alot of extra supplies from the first build.
Heres pictures from the second box build, this time with an amp rack too!
Covered the area with tin foil.
Tarped over everything else to keep it clean.
First layer of fiberglass mat applied.
Second layer of mat applied and 3rd layer in fiberglass cloth.
Fourth Layer in mat and 5th layer in cloth.
What happens to plastic cups when you use too much hardener lol...
Cuttin out the speaker baffle.
Hot glued the baffle in with dowels and also glued the amp mount in.
Hot glued fleece over the area and trimming it up.
Soaked the fleece in Fiberglass resin with tons of hardener.
First layer of bondo on the front for strength.
Second layer of bondo (after hardened)
Put in the makeshift amp mount bolts, covered the box in carpet, and mounted the speaker! The box on the left is the first box we made like 1 year ago.
Box in the car.
Yes that is a sony explod amp, but it sounds fantastic. Pretty soon im going to Oscope/clamp that amp to prove to people that Sony amps are good budget amps.
