Im putting a new head unit in my 92 lincoln towncar. Im using stock speakers. The car has a stock amp (weak). The new cd player im installing gives 40watts to each speaker. Should i leave stock amp or take it out? I heard if i leave it it will blow speakers? If i need to get rid of it how do i do that?
just bypass it go from the head unit directly to the speakers

I hooked my Pioneer radio up to my stock Ford Mach 460 amp (made by JBL according to the installer) in my Mustang until I get the rest of my system together. It blows away the stock HU and amp combo. Even the installer was shocked/impressed and they are THE local installer for all of the pro athletes and other high end systems in the area.
