Rockford Fosgate Punch P6001 600w X 1 @ 2 OHM Hifonics BXi 1608D 4 ohms: 550 watts x 1 2 ohms: 1100 watts x 1 1 ohm: 1600 watts x 1 The the RF cant provide the 800W RMS So I would get the Hifonics wired at 2 ohm and watch the gain to avoid damage to the subs. |

Gold Member Username: KaerfplSpencerport, NY USA Post Number: 1336 Registered: Jun-06 | The Rockford Fosgate Punch P2's are 400 Watts RMS and come in both DVC 4 Ohm and DVC 2 Ohm versions. With that said, if you have the DVC 4 Ohm versions, you are going to be looking for an Amplifier that can produce 800 Watts RMS at a 1 Ohm load (Parallel Wiring). Even though the Hifonics BXi 1608D is rated for 1600 Watts RMS at 1 Ohm, you will most likely be seeing anywhere around 1200 Watts RMS at 1 Ohm since this is a very overrated Amplifier. Regardless, it will still power the P2's. Just make sure to correctly tune the Amplifier to avoid damaging the Subwoofers or Amplifier. If it turns out that you have the DVC 2 Ohm versions of the P2's, then you are going to be looking for an Amplifier that can produce 800 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms (Series/Parallel Wiring).Once again, the Hifonics BXi 1608D will be able to support this, since it should be putting out slightly more than 800 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms, once again because it is overrated. Overall, the Hifonics BXi 1608D is the better choice over the Rockford Fosgate Punch P6001. |
