Car audio code?????

Can someone help me I recently bought a used 98 holden vectra... the stereo (original) does not work, everytime I press the on button it comes up with the word "safe' on the screen... Is there a code I can put in to get it to work, its driving me insane!!!

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels,barcodes or stamped in the metal casing. This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated
