Legacy 1.2 Farad Capacitor Jensen Jxp 680 (680W Peak Power)Peak 4 Channel RMS Power Per Channel @ 4 ohm 60x4 Peak Power Bridged @ 4 ohm 340x2 Power Per Channel @ 4 ohm 120x4 RMS Power Bridged @ 4 ohm 170x2 Trying to run: 2* 12" Phoenix Gold XS Series 4 Ohm subs. I wired them in series. They are 250W RMS and 500W peak. I know this amp is not sufficient, I am running it at half gain level. It keeps shutting down. And it comes back up a few seconds after. Why is this happening? Does this damage the subwoofers? Should I wait for my new amp? Do I need to install a fan? The Jensen amp is currently bridged and set to LPF. It is plugged on the rear ouput. I currently have an old Orion 2100 cobalt amp that is running the Speakers in series in 2 channels. I believe it is rated at 2*100W RMS. I have only 2*200W peak Speakers Running. This is also all hooked up to that same 1.2 Farad Capacitator. Could the capacitor hooked up to both amps at once be the issue? This cap should be handling 1200RMS!! This is temporary, I have a 1800W 2 ohm stable 4 chan amp coming soon. It will run subs and speakers. Furthermore, How should I plug that 1800W amp with my setup? 1.2 Farad Cap 500W RMS pair of subs (1000W peak total) 200W RMS pair of speakers 6*9 (400W peak total) 300W RMS pair of tweeters (600W Peak) Orion Amp 200W RMS Jensen Amp 340W RMS Kenbo Amp 800W RMS (hopefully) Could I capacitate Jensen and Kenbo amp with my 1.2 farad Legacy Cap? Capacitance +-5%.20-24 Volt Surge,105C Lowest E.S.R.(<0.0016 OHM) Chrome Plated Post Kits I bought this off ebay saying it was a 1800W amp. http://www.opalcountry.com/carstereos/KENBO/MVC-376S.JPG http://www.opalcountry.com/carstereos/KENBO/MVC-368S.JPG http://www.opalcountry.com/carstereos/KENBO/MVC-375S.JPG http://www.opalcountry.com/carstereos/KENBO/MVC-366S.JPG http://www.opalcountry.com/carstereos/KENBO/MVC-367S.JPG How should I set it up? I know a Class D or AB amp would be better. Or 2/1 Mono blocks. Anyhow this is what I got for the $ I got to invest. Thanks for the help, Phil |
