all forums have their weak spots. Why does it suck here you have nothing to back up your statement except maybe the way its setup but its still very easy to navigate.
I'm not fond of how long it takes to post a reply a lot of times here.. I can walk off and come back a minute or two later and it's still waiting on the board to post my message. There's no edit feature, and appears to be no board moderation at all.
those are some downsides
on the upside, it's easy to get help since this is one of the few free forums with no requirement for registration prior to posting, and in the time I've been here the board has improved by magnitudes in it's demeanor. When I first got here, 80% of the threads seemed to be nothing more than flame wars and name-calling with creative spelling to get around profanity filters. Now people are actually getting help and the rampant attacks are nearly extinct. It's a rather nice improvement.
I'm just not a big fan of car/sounddomain. 99.8% of the cars on there are crap, I haven't seen a single professional looking competition level sound system on the entire sire in the years I've spent nosing around there when I get bored, and their prices on most things in the store section are full retail and far above street value. Aside from that the board seems to be infested with 14 year olds with no sense of taste or grasp on grammar to name just a few of their ADHD-riddled issues. No offense to anyone on sounddomain who may happen to read this of course. That's just the impression I get every time I look at the site and see some 16 yr old's Escort with spray painted racing stripes and a Jensen audio system with the title in all caps of "RIDING ON AIR!!!!!!!!!" more like high on crack.
HAHAHA you can edit your most recent posts if you goto your profile. The problem I have with this site is like yesterday when half the forums didnt work and i could only see accessories and amplifiers nothing else showed up in the car audio section. plus an edit feature isnt necessary if you read your post at the preview before its posted.
sure it is if you want to add information, or correct something you've found to be inaccurate. There have also been times I've replied that I'd have liked to go back and edit the post after I'd calmed down and no longer felt like lobotomizing the person to whom I was writing.
you must not be talking about the people who mainly post on Sound Domain. Of course most of them are extremist RE and Adire fanboys but still they are quite informative. I hate all those little forum audio companies. then again im picking up the X+X+X component set by RE if its really is what its cracked up to be. otherwise i'll be running a set of Boston Acoustics Z6's.
i'm sorry if i would have offended anyone. its just mainly the back and forth arguements on here that kills me. no one can ask a simple question about something without someone offering overpriced equitment or telling them what they have is junk. i understand that what they have isnt the best or what their looking for isnt the best, but people have a budget. its really getting annoying to see an arguement every thread. lets start posting more pics! i really didnt mean to vent off and bash the forum, just a few problems and wanted to see others response. lets end this thread.
sameguy, unfortunately, some of this crappy gear people end up buying is the source of tehir problem. things like "why aren't my pyramid subs louder?" or "why did my legacy amp stop working?" or "how can I make my audiobahn system louder?" the answer is get better equipment or pay a professional to install what you have.
You have to realize building a good sound system is like building a fast car. It comes down to money. This isn't a cheap hobby. It never has been, and I don't see it becoming one in the near future. sorry if that upsets people, but there is truth in the old saying, "You get what you pay for."
I do agree with you though that things don't need to be so hostile to get the point across. suggesting better equipment is different from saying "you suck and so does your stereo."
I wouldnt always agree with the term you get what you pay for. Kicker are good subs and you can get the cvr for around 50-60 bucks a piece a very cheap price IMO. Right now they have the xtant z104 subs which are a decent sub 2 for 75.95 which is pretty cheap. I once got a bd500 for 100.00 bucks which is very cheap and worked like a champ. They have a sub called a dayton quatro which is about 65.00 a piece and is a good sub also. Im not saying your wrong glass and the statement you get what you pay for does apply just sometimes by doing a little research and shopping around you can get a decent deal on stuff.

the retail on the compVR is about $100 each. the Comp line is about $65 each. I never said there isn't anything good and affordable, but side by side I wouldn't put a $100 compVR against a $500 W6v2. The JL is a better sub, and you pay for the difference. Same thing goes for a $300 JBL amplifier next to a $600 Arc Audio amp. Both are good, but the Arc amp is better, hands down.
There are always good deals to be had if ya put some effort into finding them, sure. I'm speaking in general terms here though. There's always some exception someone can point out, but that doesn't negate the vast majority of the market. Neither of us are wrong. Just a matter of different perspectives.
