i have a JBL 10" sub and don't know how big of an amp i need to run it. Something not too expensive is best. How many watts?

It depends on what series you bought. Im assuming you bought the GT series Sub but i also need to know if you bought the single voice coil or double voice coil. Either way just match the rms rating of the speaker with the amp. I will tell you that the JBL mono block power series amplifiers make a good subwoofer application. The BP150 may only be rated at 150 watts but ive seen it do more than many amps claiming to push 300 to 400 watts.
