I have one JBL 1200.1 for two ID MAX 12" 2ohm dual voice coils subs. Am I going to reach the mechanical limit for this pair with this amp or are they going to be underpowered? I plan to wire the subs together to net a 2 ohm load.

Anyone with any opinions on this? I basically want to know if I can reach max output from the subs with this amp.

yes you can, a larger sealed box or ported box can easily help you with your underpower problem
say 1.75 cubic feet sealed, 2.3 cubic feet vetned each would do a good job
