I oringinally had this Q in my neon, but i decided to put it in my other car and put the epics i had in the neon. Anyways, quite a huge difference in sound from the trunk car to this one. Its ALOT louder and cleaner sounding even with just a loc. At some point though,i would like to find someone to put an aftermarket hu in there. The shops around here are just idiots so that might be pretty difficult. The box in the vid was givin to me by my brother. He was running a 15'' bl in it,it is a pre-fab(yes i know) but i gotta say for a pre-fab its built quite well and sounds pretty good.

Anyway, its just till i can get one built. The other box i have is just a tad to long.

Ok, a couple questions.... When setting the amp with a dmm is there a different way that it needs to be done when using a loc? Im kind of limited with settings on the factory radio. What else could i buy to boost/improve the sound?

Nope.

Same as if you had just installed a new aftermarket HU.

^^ Good tutorial for setting the gain.

I guess if you can't reach your target voltage you would need to boost the signal somehow, although I'm not exactly sure how you do it. Maybe someone else here would.

Cheers,

Do they make a signal processor to where i can just come from the loc i already have in there, and just go to the processor with my rca plugs? Or am i just better off taking out the loc an buying something like that? The radio/dashboard is a b itch to get apart and very little space to work with, thats why im asking.... thanks again

Tell me what make model and year vehicle, and which stock system it has if there are options, and I'll show you what you need.
OEM integration has sort of become one of my specialties... with the stock radios becoming so advanced in new cars, it's what everyone's wanting these days.

Ok in that vehicle there is no way to get low-level signal out of the stock HU, so you're stuck with a LOC of some sort, but some are much better than others.

I'm about 90% sure a PAC AOEM-NIS2 will work even tho they don't list that specific vehicle. What that is, a LOC that plugs in-line to the radio harness and gives you 4ch RCA out. PAC audio products are about the best out there so if you are absolutely stuck with using an LOC they are the way to go.

That LOC you already have is actually not bad. If it still sounds like somethings missing, it's very likely the only solution is going to be an aftermarket HU. Even with the best equipment the signal is only as good as the source unit, which can range from not bad to terrible.

I would love to put an aftermarket hu in there, but its a custom job that i dont have the skill or patience for. Have a look...

To somebody that knows what there doing im sure its not to difficult

That PAC AOEM-NIS2 just plugs in between the harnesses?

If i did go with something like that LC6 would i go from the loc to that or does that just replace the loc altogether?

Yikes. That is one of those P.I.T.A. cars where you can't put an aftermarket HU in there without major custom work. LOC is probably your only option there. Only good thing is newer stock units are a lot better than they used to be so it's possible to get fairly good results.

And yes that PAC adapter would just plug in-line to the radio... although I'd recommend calling PAC first to verify compatibility... after seeing those pics I'm starting to doubt whether it really would work or not.

I dont understand why they make these stock radios like this. I mean i do,but it just pisses me off. lol I guess i could always do something like this

http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/69-audio-electronics/15912-installed-aftermar ket-radio-my-2006-murano-pics-inside.html

Im thinking of maybe trying something like the LC6 out. Is it really going to make that much of a difference tho? I mean is it going to be worth trying?

No. The PAC audio LOC you already have will give you about as good results are you're going to get. You can do all the EQ/processing you want, output will only ever be as good as the input.
