12" re se's. I texted the guy and asked if they were old or new style he had no idea. I figured even if they were the new style, I can't go wrong at 75 bucks. got there, he hooked them up. Sounded good, still stiff suspension. Threw them in the car, went down the street and popped them out of the box. Old style...SWEET! I was looking at getting a diamond audio d6 15 for my gfriends car. These will work instead.
M.S. yep, about to start a liquidation of the subs. Going to try to take the passenger seats out of the tahoe and add 2 more 21" wardens to the mix. 4 wardens should be insane.
Sean, Lol that is probably the only sub I will never sell. I couldn't let it go if I wanted to. Its the red basket old style. Funny enough when i bought it new a few years ago when they were switching to audiopulse and they dropped the prices I bought it for 875. And thought I'd made a huge mistake. Had buyers remorse big time, till I hooked it up. Best sub I've ever owned hands down.
I thought I had found a good deal when I got mine. Similar to your story, the guy didn't know what he had, he listed them at 300 watts even though it said 600 right on the box. LOL Great find, I would have jumped all over them. If your looking to sell them, I know there was a guy on CACO that was looking for a pair. 4 wardens?????? I have got to see a video of that.
It will be awhile on the other 2 wardens. damn things are expensive. nice subs though. I'll check out caco and see if he's interesed. Yeah, I met this guy just south of indy where I live and he jumped out of the car, barely had his eyes opened. he opened the trunk and the carpet on the box smells of weed, really really strong. I think the dude was so hard up for another bag, that He would have taken anything. I haven't really been around dope since college (several years ago), and concerts, but man alive, you never forget the smell.
There's someone selling some 15" RE se like these for 100 bucks with a ported box, they have a different design in the front though. He didn't post a number so i emailed him and haven't heard back from him in a few days... So someone prolly picked them up A while back i picked up an old Re se for 20 bucks though lol had a crack on the cone i patched it up and works great...
An experienced and careful eye will make you good money on CL. While the place is riddled with scammers and deadbeats you will occasionally run across ppl who simply don't know or don't care what their stuff is worth and just want it gone. Some also need the $$ fast and will part with gems at a fraction of its' value.
