New member Username: Tornado112Post Number: 1 Registered: Oct-10 | ok I currently have 2 Audiobahn ALUM10N hooked up a a crappy amp that only pushes out 300 w rms... the name right now escapes me... i want to hook up an MA AUDIO SY5011DX I need to know how to wire these 2 DVC 6ohm properly and the amp pproperly to get the most stable and best sounding subs that i can get the specs of both items below... This is a two channel amp and if you could tell me how to properly wire the terminals on both the amp and subs would be a great help. 10" Dual 6 ohms Aluminum Cone Subwoofer Power Handling: Peak: 1600 watts RMS: 800 watts Aluminum Voice Coil Former Extended Pole Piece Vented Oversized Back Plate Flat Spider 120 oz. New member Username: Tornado112Post Number: 2 Registered: Oct-10 | I also have to bride the amp to mono right and if that is the case how do i properly wire it and thanks guys for your help and do you think the setup is any good how would you rate the old school ma audio amp |
Silver Member Username: JbpittPittsburgh, Pa. Usa Post Number: 822 Registered: Jul-09 | Yea bridge it to mono. It would be - from one channel + from the other. It should be labeled somewhere on there. Dont know much about ma,but your only going to get around 400wrms to each sub, which is about half there rms. Im sure they will sound fine on that, but you could go bigger on an amp if you didnt buy it already. |
New member Username: Tornado112Post Number: 3 Registered: Oct-10 | I have an o2 900.2 OA900.2 amp would this be better. also i thought i would push more power in a 1.5 ohm load since the max power would be 1000 at 1 ohm or am i looking at this wrong |
Silver Member Username: JbpittPittsburgh, Pa. Usa Post Number: 824 Registered: Jul-09 | Yea it would be the other way,it would be slightly less. It does 750wrms @ 2ohms an 1000wrms @ 1ohm so it would probly do between 800 an 900wrms im guessing |
New member Username: BanbanpomPost Number: 1 Registered: Oct-10 | I ever use probly do between 800 an 900wrms that ok. http://powercaramplifier.com/ |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 13886 Registered: Dec-03 | why did you get 6 ohm coil subs and only buy 2? 6 ohm coils are designed to run in sets of 3 speakers for a 2 ohm load. |
New member Username: Tornado112Post Number: 4 Registered: Oct-10 | I have had these subs for years and didnt know any better... now that im older and have more knowledge about them... now i know... but I want to at least push them with the mono block to the best potential that i have with the equipment i have. So hopefully this should do and reading online it seems that these subs are good when pushed properly |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 13894 Registered: Dec-03 | be aware that very few amps made will be stable @ 1.5 ohms if the amp is stereo and it's bridged. A bridged stereo amp presented with a 1.5 ohm load will see 0.75 ohms, so to speak, and will most likely shut down and go into thermal protection immediately. |
New member Username: Tornado112Post Number: 5 Registered: Oct-10 | after checking the amp it is a monoblock amp stable at 1ohm 1000RMS supposedly... after checking the specs online. |
