I have a Lexus IS350 with the Mark Levinson DTS surround sound (digital) audio system.
I am upgrading the speaker and amplifiers. I will be replacing the front stage with Rainbow Profi 3 way components. I will be disabling (but leaving in place) the rear speakers and the center channel. I am replacing the single sub with 4 8" subs.
I am replacing the ML amplifier with 2 or 3 PPI Art series amps.
My questions is: Has anyone had experience upgrading this specific system? I purchased an Audiocontrol LC8i to feed the signal to the new speakers with keeping the factory touchscreen headunit (it is too integrated with the cars computers to replace).
Since the ML system is digital will the LC8i be all i need to grab the signal. Or will i need a JL Cleansweep? (or similar DSP management solution).
i still havent installed all this...its all sitting in my garage. minus subs. I cannot find a suitable sub and enclosure combination. Ideally i would go with 4 8" subs in a unique enclosure. Or maybe 6 6" subs.
The goal is SQ over SP...just havent found the right ones yet.
