Garry53 leave it turn on untouched until it resets itself don't touch any button cause if you do the waiting time will start from the begining. if you post the numbers/letters from below the main barcode something like 7700xxxxxxtt123 or 8200xxxxtt123 or the security code like Q123 or T0U123 can be found in a small box then i can check code for you off of the radio
I have a 2001 vw jetta vr6. we just got it from my uncle and it had set with the battery dead and the doors unlocked for several months. so everything in it had been stolen. and the radio was locked and we want to unlock it. we got the vin number and the serial number off of the radio.

Rickremp Please note that code entry is only possible when "CODE" is shown in the display. If the display continually shows four bars " - - - - " then the unit may be codelocked and will need to be left switched on up for up to two hours to reset before another code entry attempt is possible. so leave turned on untouched until it resets. AND you must hold at end to store code. Code Entry as Follows:

My girlfriend came to watch me playing footy on Saturday and took cover in the rain, leaving the wipers and radio on, despite me reminding her to turn it over every now and again! Bump started, needed the radio code.
And for anyone elses info, on the default fitted radio I have, the numbered buttons can also be used to scroll through the numbers. Press 1 to scroll from 1-9 for the first digit, 2 for the second digit etc etc.
