Hey Reg Rooster...

Is it possible to set my radio to Europe mode? If so, can you give me a 4 digit code that will work? Thanks.

4 digit 2082
Also this sequence for code and then to USA:
1) Turn key to position 1 so that the radio powers up.
2) Hold down the 'M' button until the serial number is shown on the display.
3) Press the '+' button until "AREA USA" is shown. Press the '1' button until AREA EUROPE is shown.
4) Exit this special mode (I think I pressed the on/off button twice).
5) The display should now show CODE----
6) Use the station preset buttons to enter the 4-digit code. Note that you don't directly type the code in, instead each preset button corresponds to a position in the 4 digits. Press presets 1 through 4 multiple times each until each of the corresponding digits match the supplied EUROPE code.
7) Press '>' (if I remember correctly).
8) The radio should now be activated.
9) Go back to the beginning of the procedure and set the AREA to USA instead of EUROPE.

Try this and let me know how it goes.

Worked like a charm!! I was able to get in, then switch back to "USA" mode. I lost all my presets though

Thanks for all your help!

Apart from losing the Presets , on many models there can sometimes be problems with the tuning frequency intervals and also the stability of retaining the code in a working US tuned radio
This is why the 5 digit code is the only long term option
