New member Username: EricshinnPost Number: 2 Registered: Aug-10 | Okay I have a few questions. I plan on getting two 12" Alpine type R's, but should i get the old model of 500 watts RMS each or the new model of 300-600 watts RMS each? Second should I get dual 2 ohms or dual 4 ohms? I dont really understanding wiring and electronics very well. Third, I plan on getting one amp that will power both. I have been told to get a mono channel class D amp but im not sure what to get. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks Links: http://www.techronics.com/caraudio_2194_Alpine-SWR-1222D-12-inch-Dual-2-ohms-Typ e-R-1500-Watts-Car-Subwoofer-SWR1222D-.html http://www.techronics.com/caraudio_10976_Alpine-SWR-1223D-12-inch-1800-watts-Max -Dual-2-ohm-Type-R-Subwoofer-SWR1223D-.html http://www.techronics.com/caraudio_2167_Alpine-SWR-1242D-12-inch-Dual-4-ohm-Type -R-1500-Watts-Car-Subwoofer-SWR1242D-.html http://www.techronics.com/caraudio_10973_Alpine-SWR-1243D-12-inch-1800-watts-Max -Dual-4-ohm-Type-R-Subwoofer-SWR1243D-.html thanks |

New member Username: EricshinnPost Number: 3 Registered: Aug-10 | My budget for the amp is around 400 dollars, but is flexible |
Silver Member Username: CwruckPost Number: 412 Registered: Feb-10 | 400 is quite high for an amp, you could actually get by for cheaper than that. check out db-r electronics. they sell sundown amps for great prices, the only thing is the amps are b-stock but honestly you will be the only one who knows. a sae-1200d is a beast of an amp and very hard to be beat for price and performance and i would suggest if you want to have a loud system check out audioque they have the sdc2.5 12's and you can get them new for like 165 each or something or get b-stock for 140 each. so 280 for 2 shipped to your door. and you more than likely want to buy dual 4 ohm subs no matter what you buy, what that means is when you wire them in parralel it will present a 1 ohm load to your amp, and give you the most power basically the best bang for your buck system, will get very loud in a box 4.0 cu ft tuned around 35-40 hz |

You're going to want to get two dual 4 ohm and then together they can run on the amp at a one ohm load. Do you have any plans for an enclosure yet? Are you looking for low bass or loudness? You could spend the money you can save on an amp on a custom built enclosure. The type Rs are a great all around sub so they should meet your listening needs whatever they are. |

New member Username: EricshinnPost Number: 4 Registered: Aug-10 | Thank you everyone. From the input i think i am going to get the SAE-1200D, it looks pretty solid. I just want to make sure that what I get will work properly and maximize the performance without issues. Also, i will go with the new model of alpine type R 12 and get two of them at 4 watts RMS, or http://www.techronics.com/caraudio_10973_Alpine-SWR-1243D-12-inch-1800-watts-Max %20-Dual-4-ohm-Type-R-Subwoofer-SWR1243D-.html Box wise im not sure. I wanted to get a custom box either sealed or ported, probably ported, but im not too sure where to look for that specifically. Wiring wise i also am not too sure what to buy if anyone could help me with that Rovin the first two links were either broken or the item were sold, but thank you |

Post Number: 16622 Registered: Jul-05 | something is wrong with techronics.com since its not loading basically my links had the 1243 for around $125 each shipped on ebay SAE is the older discontinued series - SAX is the latest model check that link deathood posted for a good box wiring : it depends , will u be running another amp for any mids\highs speakers ... |
New member Username: EricshinnPost Number: 5 Registered: Aug-10 | Thats weird, its working for me. Yeah techronics is selling it for 126 so its basically the same price. Would you reccomend me hunt for the SAE or but the SAX? If i get the SAX where can i get it for a reasonable price? As of now I can get the SAE for 280 Box wise i am still having trouble with size its asking how big i want it and i really have no idea. For now i only plan on wiring the subs the speakers will do for now, but in the future its definitely possible that i upgrade my speakers and get another amp for that. |

Gold Member Username: Dustin3Box Designer & Builder...Dustin Post Number: 5792 Registered: Oct-05 | for the R's is really depends on how you want it to sound. what kind of music do you listen to? do you like upper bass or that low bass? |

New member Username: EricshinnPost Number: 8 Registered: Aug-10 | Its a V2 I read up and decided to get the V2. I listen to a lot of hip hop, but sometimes i listen to some techno so im not really sure. |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Box Designer & Builder...Dustin Post Number: 5794 Registered: Oct-05 | I would personally go ported and tune it to 30-32hz. Would give you some nice lower bass as well... shoot me a request on my website and I can give ya a quote via email man. Dustin |
New member Username: EricshinnPost Number: 9 Registered: Aug-10 | I sent you a request with most amount of info I could give you. I hope its enough. Hope to hear back. Eric |
