I recently did a trade system for system and now have this amplifier. Here are they specifications:
Amplifier Class D Number of Channels 1 - Mono RMS Power (4 ohms) 650 watts x 1 channel RMS Power (2 ohms) 1300 watts x 1 channel RMS Power (1 ohm) 2000 watts x 1 channel Bridged RMS Power N/A Total RMS Power Output 2000 watts Peak Power Output N/A Total Peak Power Output N/A Maximum Input Gauge Size 1/0 Minimum Impedance Unbridged 1 ohms Minimum Impedance Bridged Not Bridgeable ohms THD at Rated RMS Power
what im questioning and not sure about is if this amp is mono, why does it have two hook ups for subs? It has two negs and two pos. Are they meant for a coil to each?? With out knowing this im not sure how to feed the amp the proper ohmage. Can i get someones knowledge on this? any HELP greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yes it's a mono amp, the 2 pairs of +ve and -ve are for convenience, lets say you have a single sub that have dual voice coil at 2 ohms each, you can hook each voice coil to each pair of terminal on the amp respectively and have a total impedance of 1 ohm at 2000 watts RMS
Yes it's a mono. The amp is bridged internally making the amp more convenient when wiring multiple woofers. So, you can do what shopvac said above or just wire it all up in the box and run the speaker wire to one channel. It's all the same!
