Hey guys ~

Here is a box build I am going to be starting today for 2 Sundown SA-10's with a flared kerfed port. Box is 2.5 cubes @ 32hz with 42 square inches of port. Will get covered in charcoal carpet. Here are the designs.

Got some work done today. Looking great so far Kerfs came out PERFECT, which means all the inner kerfs touch eachother. This gives the kerfed port the strength, instead of having space inbetween the kerfs (after the bend, which alot of box builders do), which decreases the strength of the kerf. That's why there is no gaps between the kerfs, and it's so strong that I cannot even break it with my hands by bending it. Just a little heads up for people who don't know alot about how a kerfed port works.

Ecoustics is bad for uploading. You have to shrink the image down to 600 x 600 or less. Kind of sucks...

Thanks guys! I been away for a couple days...

Troy ~ I got some good formula's I came up with for kerfs and some #'s/advice if your wanting some help man. Just let me know.

Pimp ~ Nope, actually, the kerfs are so strong that I can bend the wood as HARD as i can and it doesn't break. It's because the inner wood (kerfs) touch eachother when the bend occurs, which keeps the structural integrity and makes it so it cant bend past that point

and paul, I do remember him lol

Curious what are the dimensions on that minus the battery box? I may need one made for my mini the port volume on my old box is getting a bit small.
