New member Username: GibnihtmusPost Number: 2 Registered: May-10 | my subwoofer amp turns off when i turn my music up. it only happens when i play the song "over" by drake. heres a video on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOWlOy-K1dk and it turns off @ 29 seconds on the video. but no other songs make it turn off. all the wires are connected. i tugged them a little bit and they are all secure. and no wires are touching each other. heres my setup if anyone needs it. headunit : pioneer-deh-p7300 sub: p1 punch 8" 300 watts max. amp: jensen ka 2200 200 watts. factory speakers and using headunit to power speakers. i have 8 gauge wire going to the amp. |

Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfLexington, SC USA Post Number: 13500 Registered: Dec-03 | 8 gauge is sufficient for 200 watts for up to about 25 feet which should be plenty in a car. you find out if the alternator is overtaxed by using a digital multimeter ($15 from radio shack or harbor freight) and seeing if voltages are dropping below 12 volts DC while using the system. |
