Hey guys one last thing. I had the w7 with a 2.5 cubic foot box that we agreed was probably a little too big.
I recently traded the 12w7 for a 13w7 and was wondering if the 2.5 cubic foot box is good for that? JL recomends around 2.35 Cubic feet but i always hear manufactures specs don't sound great.
Long story short is a 13w7 good in a 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 30hz?
you can always reduce the box volume down to the 2.3 to 2.4 cu ft range by adding sand or MDF to the bottom of the box if you want to alter volume till you hit a sweet spot Just remember you're also altering the tuned frequency by doing so
another thing to remember is the actual sub displacement itself. not from the 12w7 to the 13w7 im not so certain how much then differ in actual displacement but your box size will be smaller by switching out the subs alone.
No, 2.3 wouldn't be too small. I would have it anywhere from 2.25-2.5 cubes and you will be fine. Let me know if you want a detailed design and cut-list. I can come up with it pretty quickly
So i will be building the box this weekend and would really like to know if 2.5fft^3 or 3ft^3 would provide the best blend of SPL and SQ and if a good frequency is 31hz?
HEY, NOT TO HIJACK THE THREAD OR ANYTHING.. BUT HOLD ON CAP LOKS.. okay there we go.. i also have a 13.5" W7.. and its currently in the jl audio pro wedge.. its a tiny little sealed box haha, i want to go ported so i can hit them LoWssss.. nawmean?
anyway.. could you guys send me the box designs you came up with please?
I currently have a kicker zx1500.1 and was wondering if that is an okay amp for me to use? my friend said i cant go above 1/4 gain or it will blow it...
