New member Username: Ja205Post Number: 2 Registered: Apr-10 | 4ohms i got a lanzar 4000vibe286 watt amp but idk if thats any good? i got that amp for free |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfColumbia, SC USA Post Number: 12997 Registered: Dec-03 | I'd suggest something in the 1200-1500 watt RMS @ 2 ohm range to drive those two subs. |
New member Username: Ja205Post Number: 3 Registered: Apr-10 | im kinda new to this stuff but i thought that since the sub is 4ohm you would have to run it to be a 4ohm. you have any amps in mind |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfColumbia, SC USA Post Number: 13003 Registered: Dec-03 | two 4 ohm subs in parallel will present a 2 ohm load. |
New member Username: Ja205Post Number: 8 Registered: Apr-10 | oh alright whats the parallel mean though? ik im asking alot of dumb questions sorry |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfColumbia, SC USA Post Number: 13006 Registered: Dec-03 | a mono amp has one pair of terminals. one pos, one neg with two subs, you wire both subs directly to the amp, pos to pos, neg to neg. series would be daisy chaining the subs, amp pos to sub 1 pos, sub 1 neg to sub 2 pos, and sub 2 neg to amp neg. this would present an 8 ohm load with two 4 ohm, single coil subs. |

Silver Member Username: PoprocksPost Number: 362 Registered: Mar-09 | Take a look at AudioQue 2200D. Wire your subs to 1ohm, like below. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42 |
Bronze Member Username: Ja205Post Number: 15 Registered: Apr-10 | you know anyone who is saling one? |
Silver Member Username: PoprocksPost Number: 363 Registered: Mar-09 | I think someone on here has a used AQ2200D for arond $300, and they can be bought from the company for like $389. AudioQue.com |
Bronze Member Username: Ja205Post Number: 16 Registered: Apr-10 | do u think the Hifonics 1606d would push my subs good? |
Silver Member Username: PoprocksPost Number: 364 Registered: Mar-09 | The BXi1606D does about 80% of rated power, so your going to see about 1280w. And yes, that will push your subs but not to there potential. Its alway best to have more power than needed but everybody cant aford to do that. |

Bronze Member Username: Ja205Post Number: 20 Registered: Apr-10 | what u mean stock eletrical system? |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfColumbia, SC USA Post Number: 13010 Registered: Dec-03 | no high output alternator and/or isolated, dedicated audio batteries the current to drive that much power with an amplifier has to come from somewhere. |
