New member Username: AlonzoubPost Number: 1 Registered: Apr-10 | So, you could say im a noob to car audio because ive never had a system in my car, but that is because of money constraints and I do know alittle about car audio. Im gonna be coming into some cash soon and decided I want to make a small setup for my car. I referred to the CAC Good, Bad, Ugly List, and under Subwoofers MB Quart is Highly recommended. But this list was made 3 years ago, I was wondering what everyones opinion is on the Discus series. The reason im questioning it is because the price is so low. The 2 options ive left myself with are: a) MB Quart 10" x2 (2ohm DVC) hooked up in series-parallel http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12181_MB+Quart+DWI+252.html b) Eclipse SW6200 series 12" x1 (4ohm DVC) hooked up in parallel http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11724_Eclipse+SW6210.html both of these options are to an Eclipse XA1200 Class D Monoblock amp. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17801_Eclipse+XA1200.html Feel free to give me your opinions on what you would chose, or suggest other decent budget setups. |

Before I go and seal the deal, id like to see some input from anyone who has had experience with the Discus series aswell as other good quality subs. |

Best bet is to audition each set if you have the opportunity, and see which appeal to your ears. Someone did mention to me that Eclipse/Fujitsu Ten is pulling out of the US market, though. I can't confirm that however, or at least haven't looked into it. I'm about to pull that CAC list down. It's severely outdated, and it's really caused as much trouble as it's done good. It's started a lot of arguments. |

You seem to have been in 12 volt for a while now, you seem to be WELL repected on your opinions, hell, you got your own ask glass thread. Some folks are blinded by there friends stupidity and NEED good guidance. To the OP, i would go Eclipse. |

I'm in the process of updating that list as we speak actually. I have a thread in here for suggestions on it in fact. The list was updated a while back by some others on CAC, so I'm revising it now to add newer and missed brands, and rearrange some of the brands already there. |
