Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 03:17 GMT they need more power than that. i'd run a minimum of 1800w to the pair. 2 SE's would fit that better, or even some sdc2.5's.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 03:25 GMT Nothing "needs" more power. They can handle more power yes, but would operate just fine on anything within their power handling... just not showing their full potential. As is true for any speaker.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 03:54 GMT MS is correct What's the budget/goal? I say if ur going to upgrade then go bigger on power and cone area. Get another alpha and amp. Properly gain match amps. Or 3 12s in the same space should be louder. 3 of those JBL D6 subs wire down to 1ohm

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 12:48 GMT I have 2 clarion dpx11500's, and if I find another alpha I'll end up buying a bigger alt and hooking up the other amp. If I don't, I'm looking at around $700 for subs. I'm not sure how much different the specs are from the v2 to the v3, and because of that, would they fight with each other?

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 14:11 GMT and as for goals, I want as much output as I can get, without sacrificing good clean sound. Space isn't a big issue either.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 18:30 GMT I say buy another alpha. They're good solid subs. If ur gonna do it, do it once and do it right. 4 Diamond D6 12s would slam and sound really good.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 21:50 GMT well no sh!t. glad you felt the need to correct something perfectly understandable and include a little lesson. i think (hope) most people know inanimate objects don't have emotional necessities. cute how you were re-assured of your position there as well. i'll make sure to type in a technical dialect from now on and hope to not upset anybody.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 22:43 GMT in all honesty probably not a whole lot, but i wouldn't give them 1800w regardless.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 - 03:24 GMT Don't get upset bc you posted something that could be misleading. You said the sub needs more power, as if it wouldn't work with less.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 - 23:05 GMT .. because everybody knows subs don't work with a little less power than needed to optimally perform sorry Joshua i guess M.S. thinks you're retarded and would think that lol. i actually haven't heard either driver, so i can't tell you. going by numbers, the sx has a lower FS (lower octave play) and slightly more xmax. but the alpha should handle more power. i like RE products more than RD though, but the gap decreased since Scott left. http://www.rdaudio.net/alpha/alpha.htm http://www.reaudio.com/specs.html#sp_sex

Thursday, April 01, 2010 - 02:15 GMT You would be surprised how many ppl actually do think that... esp new users on this forum... not saying any one here is one, just in general.
