DD is now making the C-class amps in a optional black case, we just got 4 DD C2b's in here at the shop and they are SICK. DD logo is etched into aluminum.
Never heard anything about them not making amps anymore, their amps are sick for the $. That DD C2b is the most versatile and best selling amp we have ever sold here at the shop.
120w x 2 @ 4ohm 200w x 2 @ 2ohm 400w x 1 @ 1ohm and ~600w x 1 @ 2ohm mono
Sell them on DDLe300 loaded boxes @ 4ohm, single 500's @ 4ohm, pairs of 500's @ 2ohm, single 1500's @ 2ohm, 4 6x9's at 2ohm stereo. It just WORKS with everything, and we have yet to have a single return or failure w/ them.
it is a very basic design for an amp. In the 90s, almost all amplifiers looked very similar to this, or with larger fins. It's similar to a lot of the first generation class D amp cases.
That said, the only thing I'd have liked to see different in the case layout is an overhang to cover the wiring terminals in case you decided to flush mount the amplifier(s) Having that or a bridge module that's just a section of the amp case allows you to place multiple amps end to end and make them look like one long amp.
Orion used to offer the bridge module like this for their SX, HCCA, and I believe, the GX series amplifiers back in the 90s.
