drew8406391 Unregistered guest | I need some help here. I recently took my 2 8-ohm subs out of my Tahoe where they were wired in parallel to a 500 watt amp. I just got a custom built box to put one of them in my new extended cab silverado, because i was told that, given the limited airspace under the seat, one 12 would sound better than 2. Anyways, since i am used to wiring 2 subs up, now that it comes down to it im not sure of the best way to wire only one sub to a 2-channel amp. i know its highly inefficient to be using an 8-ohm sub for this setup but at this point, i dont really want to spend much more money. Any suggestions here? Somebody tell me how stupid i am... |

Take your 4 ohm load and take half of that and thats the amount of power you will be getting. So if your amp is 500 rms bridged at 4 ohms it will be 250 rms bridged at 8 ohms. All depending on how many watts rms your sub is then it may work. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard/1_8ohmSVC_8ohm.gif Sorry for the above post. |
